One Piece After Timeskip

One Piece Chronological Order: When to Watch Episodes, Movies, and Specials

What to Watch First

If you're new to One Piece, the best place to start is with the Romance Dawn Arc, which introduces the main characters and sets the stage for the adventures to come. Episodes 1-3 of the anime cover this arc.

Pre-Timeskip Arcs

After the Romance Dawn Arc, the story of One Piece is divided into six sub-sagas, each with its own unique setting and characters. These sub-sagas are:
  • East Blue Saga (Episodes 4-195)
  • Alabasta Saga (Episodes 196-312)
  • Skypiea Saga (Episodes 313-384)
  • li>Water 7 Saga (Episodes 385-430)
  • Thriller Bark Saga (Episodes 431-492)
  • Summit War Saga (Episodes 493-516)

Post-Timeskip Arcs

After the Summit War Saga, there is a two-year time skip. When the story resumes, the characters have grown and changed. The post-timeskip arcs are:
  • Fish-Man Island Arc (Episodes 517-574)
  • Punk Hazard Arc (Episodes 575-628)
  • Dressrosa Arc (Episodes 629-746)
  • Whole Cake Island Arc (Episodes 747-877)
  • Wano Country Arc (Episodes 878-present)

Movies and Specials

In addition to the main anime series, there are also a number of One Piece movies and specials. These stories are not essential to understanding the main plot, but they can provide additional background and character development. Here is a list of the One Piece movies and specials in chronological order:
  • One Piece: The Movie (2000)
  • One Piece: Clockwork Island Adventure (2001)
  • One Piece: Chopper's Kingdom on the Winter Island (2002)
  • One Piece: Dead End Adventure (2003)
  • One Piece: Curse of the Sacred Sword (2004)
  • One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (2005)
  • One Piece: The Giant Mechanical Soldier of Karakuri Castle (2006)
  • One Piece: Episode of Alabasta: The Desert Princess and the Pirates (2007)
  • One Piece: Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in the Winter, Miracle Sakura (2008)
  • One Piece: Film Z (2012)
  • One Piece: Film: Gold (2016)
  • One Piece: Stampede (2019)

How to Watch One Piece in the Correct Order

There are two main ways to watch One Piece in the correct order:
  • Chronological Order: This method follows the events of the story as they happened in the manga. It is the most comprehensive way to watch One Piece, but it can be difficult to keep track of all the different arcs and characters.
  • Release Order: This method follows the order in which the episodes and movies were originally released. It is easier to follow than chronological order, but it can be confusing at times because the story jumps around a lot.
Ultimately, the best way to watch One Piece is the way that works best for you. If you want to experience the story in its entirety, chronological order is the way to go. If you want to watch the episodes and movies in a more streamlined way, release order is a good option.
