Hong Kong's MICE Sector Experiences Strong Rebound

HKTB Reports Growth in Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has reported a strong rebound for the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector in the first six months of the year. New industry events have spanned key sectors, including aviation, education, architecture, and medical sciences.

Growth in MICE Events and Spending

The HKTB has facilitated partnerships between the public and private sectors to drive the growth of the MICE sector. As a result, several new industry events have been launched, attracting a significant number of attendees.

MICE visitors have also stayed in Hong Kong for an average of 3.7 nights, which is higher than the average of 3.2 nights for all visitors. Each overnight MICE visitor spent an average of HK$8,000 in Hong Kong, which is approximately 20% to 30% higher than the average for all visitors.

Outlook for the Future

The HKTB is optimistic about the future of the MICE sector in Hong Kong. The organization is working closely with industry partners to develop new initiatives and attract more MICE events to the city.

The strong rebound of the MICE sector is a testament to Hong Kong's resilience and adaptability. The city has proven itself to be a vibrant and dynamic destination for MICE events, and the HKTB is committed to continuing to support the growth of this important sector.
