The Match
The match was played at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. Manchester City started the match brightly and took the lead in the 2nd minute through Kevin De Bruyne. They continued to dominate the match and scored two more goals in the first half through Phil Foden and Erling Haaland. Real Madrid came out stronger in the second half and pulled a goal back through Karim Benzema in the 33rd minute. However, Manchester City restored their three-goal lead through Bernardo Silva in the 45th minute. Real Madrid continued to press forward and managed to score two more goals through Vinicius Junior in the 55th and 75th minutes. However, Manchester City held on to win the match 3-2.
The Second Leg
The second leg of the quarterfinal will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid on May 17. Real Madrid will need to win by two goals to qualify for the semi-finals without extra time.
